Este año la Tokyo Game Show tendrá lugar del 24 al 27 de septiembre en el centro Makuhari Messe, bajo el lema "Game, it´s so energetic!". Los cuatro días del evento se dividen en dos partes: dos días reservados a profesionales y otros dos abiertos al público general.
Entre las novedades de está edición destaca la creación de una nueva zona bajo la categoría de "Advanced Mobile & PC Area" y también se prestará más atención a los medios occidentales.
En la pasada conferencia de Sony en la Gamecom se anunció que habría más información sobre la Video Store (tarifas, películas disponibles, etc) en la Tokyo Game Show, por lo que habrá que estar atentos a la información sobre este soporte.
