Rumors are circulating that Sega may update Virtua Fighter 5 for the PS3 to include support for the online play on the PlayStation Network.
This news is coming out after it was confirmed that the upcoming Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 which is set to release in August will have full Xbox Live support.
Though this may aggravate many PS3 gamers who purchased Virtua Fighter 5 when it was released on the PS3 back in February, they may be saved by the fact that sources are stating online play will be added via downloadable content.
There is no telling when the downloadable upgrade to Virtua Fighter 5 will be available but one must take a guess and state that the update would come around teh same time that the Xbox 360 version releases in August. We will have to wait and see how Sega handles this and if they will charge if the upgrade happens.
